Palato |
Two contradictory descriptions of the value of "l" are given. One describes it as "pronounced pretty much as in English" within a list of other consonants, another describes it as "pronounced with a flap of the tip of the tongue against the back of the front teeth." The latter can be contrasted with the description of r's value as "pronounced with a single flap of the tip of the tongue against the hard palate." Although the articulatory descriptions are slightly vague, the of l and r may be tentatively assumed to be something along the lines of a dental flap and retroflex flap, respectively. There is no specific indication of lateral pronunciation of either liquid, thus a lack of laterals is assigned. |
